      Basics of Color Selection

Let’s start with the basics. Every complexion has an undertone – warm or cool. People with warm complexions have skin in peach, golden, or olive tones. Cool complexions, on the other hand, are characterized by paler skin with pink or bluish veins. How does this relate to choosing nail color? Well, warm shades will best complement warm complexions, and cool shades will suit cool ones. Where do skin undertones come from and how can you recognize them?

Skin undertones result from natural pigmentation and the way light reflects off our complexion. They mainly depend on the amount of melanin and the proportion of pigments responsible for yellowish, reddish, or bluish hues in the skin. This is why some people have a golden glow (warm undertones), while others seem to have a more pinkish or neutral shine (cool undertones). It is also worth noting the veins visible on the wrists – if they appear greenish, you most likely have a warm undertone. If they seem blue or purple, your skin undertone is cool.

      Find your season

An interesting approach to choosing colors—not only for nails but also for clothing or makeup—is seasonal color analysis. In this method, skin tone, hair color, and eye color are analyzed to assign a person to one of four categories: spring, summer, autumn, or winter. For example, “spring” is characterized by a light, warm complexion and looks best in pastels and golden shades. “Autumn,” on the other hand, has deeper, warm tones and works well with earth colors such as browns, copper, or dark green. Finding your “season” is a great way to match nail colors that will perfectly complement your natural beauty and highlight its features.

      Colors for Warm Complexion

If you have a warm complexion, opt for shades such as:

      – Reds – from deep red to gentle coral
      – Oranges – both intense and pastel
      – Yellows – from golden to pastel
      – Browns – from nutty to honey

These colors will beautifully complement your skin, giving it a radiant glow. What do you think of these suggestions?

      Colors for Cool Complexion

And if you have a cool complexion, the best shades for you are:

      – Pinks – from powdery to fuchsia
      – Reds – with a hint of blue or purple
      – Purples – from lavender to deep, wine
      – Blues – especially in cool tones
      – Greens – emerald, bottle green

These hues will highlight your pale, porcelain skin, adding freshness and glow. What is your opinion on this? We would love to hear about your experiences!

      Universal Colors

There are also colors that will look good regardless of complexion. These include:

      – Beiges and nudes
      – Grays
      – Whites and blacks

These are safe options that will always look stylish and classy. If you’re unsure which color to choose, you can opt for one of these suggestions.
