Preparing Nails for Gel Ombre Manicure
Before starting the ombre creation process, it is crucial to properly prepare the nails. First, remove the old polish and thoroughly clean the nail plate. Then, using a file, shape the nails as desired. It’s important to ensure all nails are of equal length, which will help achieve a harmonious final effect.
Choosing Colors and Tools
For gel ombre manicure, selecting the right colors is key. Traditionally, ombre is associated with a gentle transition from a light to a dark shade. This could be, for example, a pastel pink transitioning into an intense purple or blue fading into navy. However, there are many possibilities, all depending on our imagination and preferences.
In addition to colors, we also need a few essential tools. These include: a gel base, chosen gel polish colors, an ombre sponge, top coat, and a UV/LED lamp for curing.
Step by Step to Perfect Ombre
We start by applying the gel base and curing it under the UV/LED lamp. Next, we apply the first gel polish color, which will be our base – usually a lighter shade. After curing under the lamp, we proceed with the application of the second color.
To achieve the ombre effect, we need a sponge. We apply a small amount of both colors onto the sponge, ensuring the colors meet. Gently stamp the sponge onto the nail, starting from the tip and ending in the middle of the plate. It’s important to use a stamping motion, which will allow for a smooth transition between colors. Once satisfied with the effect, cure the nails under the lamp.
Finishing and Securing the Manicure
After applying the ombre, it’s time to finish our manicure. Apply a top coat to secure our work and give the nails a beautiful shine. Cure everything under the lamp, then wipe the nails with a cleaner to remove the sticky dispersion layer.
The gel ombre manicure is ready! Doesn’t it look stunning? What do you think, do you feel like trying this technique yourself?
