      Preparing the Workspace

Before starting the actual filing, it’s worth preparing the appropriate workspace. You will need:

      – Nail file and buffer

      – Nail and cuticle cream or oil

Make sure you have a comfortable place to work and good lighting. This will facilitate precise filing and help avoid unnecessary mistakes.

      Filing Techniques

There are different nail filing techniques, and the choice depends on preferences and nail shape. Here are the two most popular:

      1. Classic Technique: This involves filing the nails in a one-way motion, from the sides to the center. This method allows for a smooth and even surface and prevents the nail plate from splitting.

      2. Circular Technique: This involves filing in circular motions, resulting in a more rounded and softer shape. It’s an excellent option for those who prefer a more natural and oval nail finish.

Regardless of the chosen technique, always remember to file gently and precisely. Excessive pressure can lead to damage to the nail plate or cuticles.

      Choosing the Right File

A key tool in the nail filing process is a high-quality file. The best choice is paper files, which are not only gentle on the nails but also hygienic, as they can be replaced after a few uses. Pay attention to the file’s grit, which determines its coarseness. For natural nails, files with a grit of 180/240 are ideal—where the 180 side is suitable for shortening and shaping, and the finer 240 side perfectly smooths the edges, preventing splitting. With the right file, we can care for our nails professionally and safely, even at home.

      Post-filing Care

After carefully filing your nails, it’s important to ensure proper care. We recommend using nourishing creams or oils that will moisturize and strengthen the nail plate. This way, your nails will be healthy, shiny, and beautifully presented for a long time.
