Nowadays, more and more people are choosing to do their own manicure at home. It is not only a time and money saver but also a great opportunity to develop personal skills. However, before we start this adventure, it is worth considering how to assemble the right manicure set. What should it contain so that we can enjoy beautiful nails, both for hybrid and classic manicure?
Basic manicure tools
Every manicure set should contain a few basic tools that are essential for both hybrid and classic manicure. First and foremost, we cannot forget about a nail file. It is worth investing in several types of files with different grits, which will allow us to precisely shape the nail plate. Nail clippers are also necessary to maintain the appropriate nail length.
Another important element is a cuticle pusher. We can choose between metal or plastic – it all depends on our preferences. Additionally, cuticle nippers will also be useful to precisely remove unnecessary skin fragments.
Classic manicure in the comfort of your home
If we plan to do a classic manicure, our set should include a few additional elements. First of all, it is worth investing in a base coat, which will protect the nail plate from discoloration. Then we need nail polish in the chosen color and a top coat, which will give the nails a beautiful shine and extend the durability of the manicure.
We cannot forget about nail polish remover – preferably acetone-free, to avoid drying out the nail plate. It is also worth stocking up on lint-free pads, which will make it easier to remove polish. For additional hydration and nourishment of the cuticles, we recommend cuticle oil, which will make our hands look healthy and well-groomed.
Hybrid manicure – what is worth having?
Hybrid manicure is gaining more popularity, mainly due to its durability and beautiful appearance. To do it at home, we need a few specialized products. First and foremost, a UV or LED lamp is essential to cure the hybrid polish. It is worth considering purchasing a lamp with appropriate power to quickly and effectively cure the hybrid.
The foundation of hybrid manicure is a hybrid base, which creates a protective layer and increases the adhesion of the color polish to the nail plate. Then we choose a hybrid polish in our favorite color and a top coat, which will secure our manicure and give it shine. To remove the hybrid, we need a special remover and foil wraps, which will facilitate the polish removal process.
For those just starting their adventure with hybrids, we also recommend a primer, which improves the adhesion of the base to the natural nail. It is not a mandatory element, but certainly useful for those with problematic nail plates.
What else might be useful?
In addition to basic tools and products, it is worth considering purchasing a few additional accessories. A buffing block is a great tool for smoothing the nail plate, helping us achieve a perfectly smooth surface before applying polish. We can also stock up on a cleaner, which degreases the nails and removes the sticky layer after curing the hybrid.
For those who appreciate artistic nail finishes, we recommend decoration brushes and various stickers, rhinestones, or powders. With them, we can create unique patterns and add a special character to our nails.
