Nails after the vacations – manicure and pedicure regeneration

Nails after the vacations deserve… a vacation. And this is best associated with a stay at a spa. This is due to the fact that in the summer so often cared about covering the plates with varnish that the nails under the colored coating could become brittle and yellowish. In addition, after summer, both skin and nails are usually so dry that they even demand intensive hydration and often nourishment. Hybrid manicure and pedicure should therefore be on the TOP list of post-holiday chores.

Regenerative strategy is good to conduct with head, that is, fund yourself treatments in the right order. We suggest how this should be done.

      1. Remove old polish – only then can you estimate what your nails really need and what condition they are in. Remember that even the use of a protective base coat does not protect against post-holiday weakening of over-painted nails.
      2. Opt for manicure and pedicure treatments, during which you will first remove keratinized epidermis and even out the natural surface of the tiles (because after many weeks of alternating lacquering and washing it may have become not only weaker, but also rougher). Spa manicure and pedicure treatments, paraffin baths and Japanese manicure and pedicure will do a great job here. All of them will moisturize brilliantly, the Japanese and SPA will additionally nourish, and by polishing off the tiles at least partially succeed in eliminating the yellowish tarnish.
      3. Give your plates a rest, that is, don’t varnish them. At most, you can apply a conditioner in varnish, but before you do that, for a few days intensively care for your nails with commercially available oils, baby oil, serums in cream or gel. Also treat your nails and hands to a mask of egg yolk, olive oil and lemon juice. Rub this concoction into the skin and onto the plates. Leave it on for a quarter of an hour and wash it off. Then apply a good nourishing cream. If you do this treatment before going to bed at night, apply a large amount of cream to your hands and over this put on thin knitted or cotton gloves. In this “equipment” go to bed. You will wash off the night mask only after waking up, and thanks to the gloves you will not stain the bedding.
      4. Perform manicures and regenerative pedicures several times. Only when the condition of your skin and nails improves visibly, decide to paint your nails. Always ask about the base coat. In Easy Nails salons you will receive detailed recommendations on how often you should repeat treatments.

      Action: regeneration

The causes of dry skin, brittle and split nails after summer are several: sun, wind, sand and sometimes spartan conditions at the vacation spot. The sun and wind dry out, sand and boulders lying on the hiking route scratch the surface of the nails – including the varnish-covered surface. Dryness of the skin is associated with the loss of collagen reserves – the basic component of the skin responsible for its firmness. To prevent the loss of this basic skin protein, it is worth enriching the diet with ingredients that help rebuild its natural resources by stimulating fibroblasts – skin cells whose job is to produce new protein fibers. Fibroblast stimulants are:

      • products rich in vitamin C, B6, sulfur, silicon, unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids
      • broths and poultry dishes prepared, for example, on a portion with a lot of chicken skin, pork knuckle or chicken or pork legs.

Remember: your hands are your business card. If you want to make a stunning impression when you return from vacation, getting a manicure and pedicure should be as important to you as choosing an outfit that accentuates your golden tan.
