Why doesn’t your hybrid manicure stick?

The durability of a hybrid manicure can depend on several factors. Here are some reasons why your hybrid manicure may not stick:

      Improper nail plate preparation:

In order for a hybrid polish to last longer, it’s important to properly prepare your nails. Any oil or polish residue should be removed from the nails, and cuticles should be well trimmed.

      No base coat application:

Using a base coat before applying colored hybrid polish is key. The base provides better adhesion of the polish to the nail plate, which helps the manicure last longer.

      Incorrect application:

Proper application of colored hybrid polish requires even application of layers, ensuring adequate drying time between layers and precise coverage of the nail.

Inadequate curing in a UV/LED lamp:

Each layer of hybrid varnish should be carefully cured in a UV or LED lamp for the recommended time. Insufficient curing can lead to poor adhesion and easy peeling of the varnish.

      Product aging:

Hybrid varnish has a limited expiration date. If you use a product that is past its expiration date, its shelf life may be affected.

      Effects of chemicals:

Contact with aggressive chemicals, such as detergents or solvents, can shorten the life of the hybrid varnish.

      Type of basecoat:

Basecoat is a key part of a long-lasting hybrid manicure. Make sure you use a high-quality basecoat suitable for your nail plate type, as this can affect the durability of the colored polish.

Applying too thick a layer of polish:

Applying too thick a layer of colored hybrid polish can lead to faster peeling. It is recommended to apply thin layers, carefully cured in a lamp.

      Failure to protect nail tips:

Circumventing the tips of your nails (known as “taping”) with colored polish can help make your hybrid manicure last longer.

If, despite following these tips, your hybrid manicure still doesn’t stick, it’s worth consulting a professional or visiting a beauty salon to get advice and possibly correct any errors in application technique.
